FAQs

Q1: Is this real Thai food or just Americanized?

At Thai Siam, you’re getting real Thai flavor — no shortcuts. Our recipes come straight from Thailand, and we use traditional ingredients wherever possible. Of course, we’ll adjust spice levels for your comfort, but the essence is 100% authentic. If you want the full Thai experience, just ask!

Q2: How spicy is 'spicy'? Like Thai spicy or Texas spicy?

Spicy at Thai Siam means Thai spicy — unless you say otherwise.
We always ask your preferred spice level: Mild, Medium, Hot, or Thai Hot. Be warned — Thai Hot is seriously spicy. Don’t challenge it unless you’re ready.

Q3: Why does my Pad Thai taste different today? Did you change the recipe?

We haven’t changed the recipe — but we make everything fresh, from scratch.
Slight variations can happen due to fresh ingredients and cooking style. But if something tastes off, let us know. We’ll make it right.

Q4: Do you have vegetarian or vegan options — or do all your curries have fish sauce?

Yes, we’ve got plenty of vegetarian and vegan options!
Just let us know your dietary preference. We can prepare most dishes without fish sauce or meat. Look for the 🌱 symbol on our menu, or ask our staff.

Q5: What’s the difference between red, green, and yellow curry? Which one’s the least spicy?

Here's the quick guide:

🔴 Red Curry – Bold, savory, medium spicy
🟢 Green Curry – Herbal, coconut-forward, often the spiciest
🟡 Yellow Curry – Milder, turmeric-based, slightly sweet

If you want the least spicy, go with Yellow Curry.

Q6: Do you use MSG in your food?

Nope — no MSG added.
Our flavor comes from fresh herbs, spices, and traditional Thai ingredients. If you have any sensitivities, just let us know when you order.

Q7: Why is the wait so long? I ordered 10 minutes ago!

We get it — you’re hungry!
Everything at Thai Siam is made to order, fresh from the wok. During peak hours, wait times may be longer, especially for takeout. We appreciate your patience — and we promise it’s worth the wait.

Q8: Can you make it extra spicy? Like, Thai grandma-level spicy?

Yes — but don’t say we didn’t warn you.

We can crank up the heat for true Thai spice lovers. Just ask for "Thai Hot" or "Extra Thai Hot." It's not for the faint of heart — or the weak of tongue.

Q9: Are your ingredients halal or gluten-free?

Some items can be prepared halal or gluten-free — just ask.
We’re happy to customize your dish whenever possible. Let our staff know about your dietary needs, and we’ll guide you through the menu.

Q10: Why can’t I order Thai Iced Tea without sugar?

Traditional Thai Iced Tea is brewed with sweetened condensed milk or pre-sweetened tea.
That’s what gives it the rich, creamy flavor. We don’t recommend skipping the sugar, but we can make adjustments like switching to coconut milk or less sweet if requested.
